Maybe someone would think I am blind, but women on this site should not be too worried about their looks, IMO. I think some are very cute, actually. And me, I'm getting old, losing some hair up top, so I won't be too critical. Besides, I've never been one to be very critical; I've dated many women who other guys thought were not good looking. (I've also dated some rather attractive women as well, though.)
Looks DO matter, but only to the person doing the looking. Tastes vary widely, so one can never tell exactly who I will see as gorgeous or homely, or anything else for that matter. I try not to worry about my own appearance too much, but I do take care to trim my nails, keep my hair trimmed, the usual things.
Nor am I an age bigot. I have dated and been in relationships with plenty of women older than me, even much older. I know that bugs some older women because that wasn't widely acceptable "back in the day." I understand that, but I also understand the other point of view: Sometimes age gaps work wonders for a relationship. Most of all it has to do with dynamics, I've found.
But all relationships come to an end, by choice or not. So I've had a few, and I have just come to understand that this happens.
OK, let's go over a few things for the younger types -- again, I'm not ageist, but I see that a lot of younger people seem to struggle with basic English grammar. Being it is the only natural language I am fluent with, it would be so helpful if you younger ladies would check your grammar and punctuation before you hit send. This is not my smart phone; it is my desktop. I don't like to text much, so make your intro interesting enough to read and get me interested. I don't like dumb-sounding people.
Politically, I lean left, which means I would not go together well with a conservative or deeply traditional religious type. I believe we match best with those most like ourselves; opposites don't get along as well.
I am not "old-fashioned" though I do believe people should behave decently to others and the planet, but not to the point of being "PC." Begin by telling me a bit about the type of relationship you are looking for. I'm looking for anything that works (seriously), but that doesn't mean that *anything* will work for me. I'm an iconoclast and a bit of an introvert.
