I am a caring, loyal, passionate, funny, easy going, and honest person, that believes in respecting woman, but also still prefer to be slightly old school and have manners and do things like open doors, compliment a woman, and treat her as someone special. I also have a mischievous side, and enjoy flirting with the person I love and also enjoy listening, though once I get comfortable I can be a talker. Everyone I know says I am really funny and smart, but also easy to talk to. I can be supportive, without being needy. I know how to give someone their space when they need it, but I also will be happy cuddled up. I love doing anything that involves being outside, be it cooking, going for walks, playing disc golf, playing with the dog, hanging at the lake, or just walking a downtown looking at stuff. I am an animal lover, and have a dog and some cats.
I am looking for someone that is honest, loyal, and enjoys showing their love. I really am not looking for anything in particular, just someone that wants to have fun and has a good sense of humor, and doesn't mind being flirty and playful. She needs to be looking for a long term relationship, and will to take it slow. I am not looking for high maintenance, but I am also not looking for a slob. If you are a jeans and t shirt woman great; if you are a rock n roll chick with tats and piercing, that is fine as well. I am more concerned about the person and not looks or image. I would prefer someone that loved horror movies, haunted houses, and Halloween as much as me, and likes to do things spur of the moment, such as take a drive. I am not looking for someone that has to be wine and dined and taken shopping all the time. I don't mind doing that stuff, but it shouldn't be a top priority. I don't do over religious. A woman that cusses and has a dirty sense of humor is a major plus to a limit - I don't need every third word that comes out to be a cuss word, or someone that shouts bad words out in public. Passion is important, and I want someone that can be open with communicating what they need or want, and not afraid to be themselves from the start. Outgoing is fine, but not to the point that it is embarrassing. I am not overly outgoing, though I am not super shy - sort of the middle of the road. I am more restrained and quiet when I don't know you, but once I get comfortable, I like to have fun.
Entertainment I like: I like horror movies, action and comedy, though can do romantic comedies. I like scifi and actually like old musicals. I like almost all music, except Christian music and death metal. My favorite is probably hair metal and 80's alternative, though I like classic country, pop, classical, and even some rap and 60's/70's rock. I like music festivals, concerts, as well as plays and live events. Burlesque shows to modern alternative rock concerts would all be ok with me.
Activities I like: I like weekend travel, haunted houses, being outside doing everything, watching SciFi channel, college football, cooking (though I am no chef), talking, eating at cool restaurants, theme/water parks, playing with the dog (Border Collie), spending the day being playful, mini golf, etc. Actually, I just like to do stuff, and I am not picky. As long as I am with someone I care for I am happy doing anything. I also enjoy snuggling up and watching a movie or just sitting outside drinking a beer and watching the birds.
Appearance: I am six feet tall, and about between medium and maybe a little heavy. Over the last year I have really gotten back into eating right and exercising, so I have lost and continue to lose weight and add muscle. When I was younger I mountain bike raced and did trail running, but family and work slowly got me out of it. Now that I am in my 40's I am trying to take care of myself again. I have a good amount of energy, so I don't think you will wear me out. I have brown hair and sometime I let it get a little long, but usually try to keep it short. I will sometime let my face grow a short beard, but usually I try to keep it shaved or at most some stubble. I am a jeans and boots kind of guy and like to keep it casual, but I do have "nice" clothes and can dress better for going out. My business requires me to dress business appropriate sometimes, so I have the ability to look presentable. I am low maintenance, so I don't spend hours at night or in the morning getting ready.
Beliefs: I believe everyone should be treated fairly and with respect, until they do something to lose that respect. I believe in being fair and honest, and being there for your family and friends when they need you. I don't believe in cheating on a relationship - if it is to that point there should have been some communication about what is going wrong in the relationship where cheating could happen. I believe all people should have a chance at love and equality, so if you are gay, lesbian or bisexual hater, I am not the person for you, since I believe in their rights and support their love.
Personal: I have a son in college that lives with me, though he works so he isn't at home a bunch. I am separated in the process of divorcing. We are leaving on good terms, so there will be no drama or revenge stunts. I was with her since I was 19 and 16, our whole adult life has been together. For that reason I am really new and probably not that good at dating, and want to take a new relationship slow so I know I am not rushing into something just to fill a void. I still have a bunch of life and love to give, but no one to give it to, but want to make sure I don't rush into something that is toxic. I want to make someone happy and improve their life, but I don't want to do it at the expense of my happiness. Personally, I am not a jealous type of person, but when I am with someone I prefer they don't go hang out and all over another guy or woman.
