Never thought I would end up on a dating site, seems all too clinical, but hey, I am not getting any younger, so here goes. Not having much luck so far.....may have to cast my net to foreign shores.......Trouble is that although my body is 60 years old, my mind is not and I don't look a day past 45.......It could be that the younger women out there are put off by my age and not me............ I have been told that I am a looker.....
I am an outgoing, kind and generous, funny, lovable, friendly person. I have a unique high profile and amazing career as an explorer and adventurer, which takes me all over the world looking for deep water shipwrecks. I am also a sh*t-hot marine archaeologist. I have been at sea in some shape or form for 40 years now, I was a deck officer in the Merchant Navy, I worked on oil rigs for 11 years, I was an offshore survival instructor, a commercial diver and an sport diver.
I am reasonably good looking, fit, and like us all, could shed a pound or two. I have all my hair and a pulse and I scrub up well. Oh, I am am a terrible dancer but can get by with Scottish country dancing and the odd waltz you do at a wedding or a party. I am good at air-guitar and air-drums though. I love all types of music and was a bit of a drummer in my youth and I did learn to play the didgerdoo.
I love my home town where I have lived all my adult life. My work demands me being away for 1-2 months at a time, but I can be home for 1-6 months at a time.
I am a very social animal, and well liked and respected. However I am shite at finding a girlfriend, my last date was a nightmare. I always seem to end up with the bunny boilers (from the movie Fatal Attraction) and those with lots of baggage, lie about their age from day one, or do not look anything like their profile pic, so anything now will be an improvement. Don't matter if you cant speak English....... I am not religious and would say I am Pagan.
I am a single dad to two boys and a step daughter. I regularly see my kids, who live close by and they were the ones that told me to find a girlfriend as they want their dad to be happy. They feared for a while that I was going to find a Russian bride and set up a Yak farm somewhere on the Western Siberian Plain. ( I spent time in Communist Russia back in the 70's and I hade a great time). In my family we curse, drink, overshare, yell, hug and tell inappropriate jokes, but hey that is what family is for.
I am completely house trained, excellent cook, I do my own, cleaning, washing, ironing and shopping. I love to travel and there is still a lot of the world I have not seen. I like cruises, weekends away and just exploring locally. I hate, rude bad mannered people. I hate people who do not pick up their dog turds, I hate people who litter. I am terrified of snakes, cats don't do much for me, having had them on the menu when I was out in the Far East for 4 years, but I do like tropical fish and dogs.. I love comedy and magic, I would love to be a stand up comedian. I have done TV work, one of the main stars in a reality show on Discovery Channel and Channel 5. Done lots of press and media interviews. Do a lot of writing of academic and popular articles about shipwrecks and maritime history. I love art and photography and I like doing arts and crafts. Love antiques and recycling items as art. In the last year I have taken up country sports in the form of fishing and shooting and I am looking forward to going deerstalking one day
So what am I looking for, a person I can have fun with, get drunk with, travel with, go out for meals with and share a sofa and movies with. Age wise younger but not 10 years older, however if you are in your 30s and think I am hot , I am okay with that too.
