Bottom line up front: I'm looking for someone to be an awesome friend who shares some of my passions, and wants to turn that friendship into the foundation for a lasting, loving relationship. I'm not looking for any frivolous encounters or one night stands.
Here's what I need from you: a sense of humour, a love of arts and people, and an interest in the world around you - and you need to be able to fuse these interests into brilliant conversation, occasionally using words that are outrageously unnecessary and gratuitous (I'm only slightly kidding about that). Here's what you'll get in return: someone who is capable of all of the above. Someone who is confident, energetic and open to experience, loves to read, engage with people, and has a wide streak of kindness and generosity. Someone who has a funny side and can see the humour in many situations including self-deprecating humour (gotta be able to laugh at yourself!). I'm young at heart and many of my close friends are much younger so I tend to forget my age.
I am open to meeting new people and open to new experiences that take me out of my comfort zone. I'm a professional so my working life can be pretty busy at times (but not always) but I do my best to always make time for those who are special to me. For some people it takes a long time to figure out their wants and needs. For others they never figure it out. It took me a long time but I wouldn't change a thing and finally know what I want. I have the great job, the great house and the cool kids. What I am missing is the last piece of the puzzle that will balance everything out. I don't mind if my companion is a bit of a nerd sometimes and/or has a bit of a nerdy sense of humour.
I'd love to hear from you if you live in or around Brisbane. To be honest, I can't see myself managing a long distance relationship. I've lived and worked interstate and overseas in the past but my feet are now firmly planted in Brisbane. I really can't see that changing.
